Jeanne Peech

Jeanne Peech hails from Vermont and attended Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, VA where her major field of studies where studio arts and art history.  After graduating she taught art in the Virginia public schools.

Later, and for many years Jeanne and her husband owned and operated businesses dealing in period American furniture and antiques in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and Middlebury, Vermont.

Jeanne made her first visit to Vieques in 2001; falling under its spell and natural beauties she returned as often as possible, eventually buying property in 2006.

With her combination of an arts background and a professional career in fields where her visual acuteness and personal style became valued components Jeanne now began to find fascination and inspiration in the abundant natural surroundings of her new Caribbean environment.  Here in Vieques Jeanne began designing and making jewelry, educating herself in its craft and fabrication.

Jeanne seems to find inspiration randomly and by chance, creating art and practical objects from everything around her.  In addition to jewelry, or what we may better define as wearable art, Jeanne’s creations often incorporate the natural found objects she collects on walks through the Vieques landscape.  Using fallen palm bracts to make centerpiece bowls.

For Jeanne Peech Vieques provides an endless supply of materials and inspiration.
